Early Life and High School Achievements

Born on January 11, 2002, in Rockville, Maryland, Jake Baker grew up in Thurmont, Maryland. He attended Catoctin High School, where he showcased his athletic prowess in both football and wrestling. As a key player, Jake contributed to Catoctin’s state championship victory in football during his senior year. His wrestling accolades further highlighted his versatility and dedication to sports. Beyond athletics, Jake was an honor roll student and an active member of various honor societies, including the National Arts Honor Society, the National Mathematics Honor Society, and the National Technical Honor Society.

Collegiate Football Career

Clarion University

Jake began his collegiate football journey at Clarion University in 2021. During his freshman year, he made an immediate impact by appearing in all 10 games. His defensive stats included 26 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss (TFL), and one fumble recovery, showcasing his ability to read the game and execute crucial plays.

Towson University

In 2022, Jake transferred to Towson University. Although he redshirted that season and didn’t see game action, he remained committed to honing his skills and contributing to the team’s dynamics. His time at Towson was marked by academic excellence, earning him a spot on the Dean’s List.

Slippery Rock University

The following year, Jake transferred to Slippery Rock University, where he continued his football career as a defensive end. In the 2023 season, he participated in eight games, recording four tackles. His performance was instrumental in The Rock securing the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West title and advancing to the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals. Off the field, Jake pursued a major in Marketing and was recognized as a PSAC Scholar-Athlete, reflecting his dedication to both academics and athletics.
